TEHRAN- Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Foroud Asgari announced on Monday that his organization’s package to tackle U.S.-led sanctions, back domestic production and spur exports of Iranian goods is being implemented, IRNA quoted him as saying.

“We have removed some restrictions to protect Iranian producers and exporters,” Asgari said.

As he also informed, exports procedures have been electronicized at customs offices and exporters can do the required exports procedures without presence in IRICA offices.
“Exports procedures used to take exporters about seven days, while electronic systems can do the customs clearance within a day,’ he expressed content.

As reported in early October, Iran’s customs income stood at 163 trillion rials (about $3.88 billion) during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22, 2018).

According to the Deputy Head of IRICA Ali Rahimian, the figure stood at 158.835 trillion rials (about $3.78 billion) during the same period of time in the past year.

Iran’s non-oil exports hit $23.123 billion in the first half of the present Iranian calendar year, growing 13 percent in comparison with the same period in the preceding year.
